A Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a high-level executive in a company or organization, who is responsible for managing the company’s finances. The CFO works closely with the CEO and the board of directors to develop financial strategies and implement financial plans.
For example, when a company is considering a major expansion, the CEO might consult with the CFO to evaluate the financial feasibility of the expansion. The CFO might prepare financial projections, analyze the costs and potential revenue, and make recommendations to the CEO and the board of directors.
