Definition of Deck house

A deck house, also referred to as a superstructure, is a structure situated on the deck of a vessel. It is commonly located towards the after or midship section of the vessel.

For instance, a research vessel might have a large deck house accommodating laboratories, living quarters, and offices for the researchers and crew.
