Definition of Jumboising

Jumboising is a maritime term used to describe the process of increasing a vessel’s displacement. This is achieved by making a mid-length transverse cut and installing a new section. For instance, a cargo ship owner might decide to jumboise their vessel to accommodate larger containers and increase cargo capacity.
