Definition of Set iron

:A soft iron bar, which is utilized on the bending slab during the process of frame bending to acquire the desired shapes.

Example: During the construction of the new ocean liner, the shipbuilder’s team employed a set iron on the bending slab. They carefully maneuvered the frame piece between the slab and the set iron, and then used hydraulic pressure to bend the frame piece to the exact desired shape for the new ocean liner.
