The stern frame is a substantial casting fixed to the after end of a ship’s keel. This structure comprises various components, such as the rudder post, propeller post, and an aperture for the propeller. For instance, a large container ship may have an extensive stern frame to accommodate a substantial rudder and a large propeller.
