Nautical Term: Crossheader

Definition of Crossheader

A crossheader pipeline refers to a system that facilitates the transfer of cargo from one pipeline to another, without physically connecting the pipelines to the vessel. For instance, in an oil terminal, a crossheader pipeline may be used to move oil from an incoming pipeline to an outgoing pipeline, allowing for the efficient storage and distribution of oil without the need for the vessel to be physically connected to the pipeline system.
