Nautical Term: Reverse frame

Definition of Reverse frame

A reverse frame is an additional angle bar that provides extra strength by positioning its heel against another angle bar. For instance, in the construction of a ship’s deck, stiffeners with flanges are commonly used to add rigidity. In such a scenario, the reverse frame can be added to the existing stiffener to enhance its strength and stability.
