Nautical Term: SRML

Definition of SRML

Single Rope Maximum Loading (SRML) refers to the maximum weight that can be safely hoisted or pulled using a single rope. For instance, in a sailing vessel, the sailor may need to determine the SRML for a specific situation, such as hoisting a heavy sail or pulling in a large anchor. It is important to remember that exceeding the SRML for a given situation can result in dangerous conditions, damage to equipment, or even injury or death.
